heqnas Sweet Essentials was first established in 2013. The company started as a partnership proprietorship in 2013 and incorporated in January 2015 as a private limited company in Malaysia. Formerly, the company was known under the name Cheqnas Sweet Essentials and was renamed to Cheqna Sdn Bhd.

The company started business as manufacturing company producing sugary treats for food and beverages, candy, cosmetics and custom jewelleries to cater to ready clients and customers locally.

Cheqna Sdn Bhd latest venture is into manufacturing instant nasi lemak to be exported to Japan due to request by Japanese importer. The brand "Cheqna' and 'CSE' are marketted as premier products in Malaysia and oversea markets.
