What is Bentonite?

Bentonite is an absorbent aluminium phyllosilicate, essentially impure clay consisting mostly of montmorillonite. The chemical composition of montmorillonite is (Al2,Mg3)Si4O10 OH2·nH2O, There are different types of bentonite, each named after the respective dominant element, such as sodium (Na), calcium (Ca), etc.

Sodium bentonite is used in stock feed for its benefits of high water absorption, cation exchange ability and organic absorption properties.
Fine bentonite is useful as a binder in pelleted feeds.
The granular form of bentonite is recommended for use in meal forms of cattle and sheep feeds. Granular bentonite will not contribute to the level of fines in the feed.

Bentonite Size: Calcium bentonite, Sodium bentonite,100 mesh, 150 mesh, 0.5-2mm, 1-4mm etc.
