    Product Description

    What is Aquaponics clay balls ?

    Aquaponics clay balls, also known as LECA (lightweight expanded clay aggregate)/Growing rocks, are formed from small round balls of clay which are heat treated, causing them to expand and become porous and are among the most popular grow media today. They are completely sterile and inert with a neutral pH. They can be sterilized, flushed and re-used and provide good root support, great drainage and aeration. 

    Expanded Clay Hot Sizes: 2-4mm, 4-8mm, 9-16mm, 10-30mm etc.

     

    Expanded Clay Character: Improve ventilation, inert, PH-neutral, no bacteria, no pests,lightweight etc.

    Packaging & Shipping

     Expanded Clay Packing:  25L or 50L/bag, 600bags/20'fcl 1320bags/40HC.

                                               Pallect packing acceptable or Jumbo bag;

    Application

    Expanded Clay Balls/Pebbles Application

     

    Expended Clay Aggregate pebbles (LECA) main use is as a hydroponic/aquaponics growing media in flood and drain and dripper hydroponics/aquaponics systems.

    Expanded Clay Rocks/ Balls/ pebbles can also be mixed with other hydroponic growing media like Perlite, Coco or Soil to give better aeration.

    To create better drainage when growing in pots add a layer of Clay pebbles in the bottom.

    Many growers use clay pebbles as a hydroponic/aquaponics growing media because they have excellent aeration and drainage properties.  

    Expanded Clay Rocks/ Balls/ pebbles are a clean, ph stable, and can be reused a couple of times before they need to be replaced.

    Water treatment: Wastewater---Bio filter, Filtrations

    For home wastewater treatment, Leca can replace distance gravel in aerobatics filter manufacturing.

    And also in anaerobic filters, the porous of Leca aggregate is a suitable environment for growth of useful bacteries.
