Animal Feed Vermiculite
Vermiculite in a refined form is used in animal feed stuffs. The free-flowing, soft, absorbent Vermiculite is an outstanding support material for carrying a wide range of nutrients.
As an example of the carrying capacity of Vermiculite, a free-flowing fat concentrate can be made consisting of 70 percent fat and 30 percent Vermiculite by weight.
It can also be used as a support material for molasses, vitamins, choline chloride and any liquid based materials to give a free-flowing granular material which can then be easily incorporated into the animal feedstuff.
Some of the properties and advantages of Vermiculite which are useful in animal feedstuffs are:

1.Horticultural vermiculite Benefits
Horticultural vermiculite is versatile, clean and sterile. While its neutral pH of 7.0 trends toward alkaline because of carbonates in the product, it does not have the pH lowering effect of peat. When combined with peat or composted pine bark, the resulting mix provides faster root growth. Because of its expanded size and light weight, it helps aerate mixes while retaining moisture and nutrients. Horticultural vermiculite is also used to bulk up mixes and lessen compaction.

4.Vermiculite usage for hoticulture
1>. Adding vermiculite to soil improves the airflow by preventing compaction,lighten the soil, assists in drainage and adds nutrients such as nitrogen and potassium.
2>. Adding coarse vermiculite to your gardening supplies can improve the overall growth of your plants
3>. Vermiculite is a naturally-occurring, lightweight silica-based mineral. Vermiculite is sterile, holds moisture well and comes in uniform granules. These properties make vermiculite ideal for germinating plant seeds. However, because vermiculite has no nutrient value, it is only suitable for growing seeds until they are 1 to 2 inches in height. After that point, the seedlings must be transplanted to a more nutritious mix that is roughly one-third vermiculite and two-thirds peat moss or compost.
