Various Grade Sodium Bentonite/Calcium Bentonite Price of Made in China
Introduction
Bentonite is an absorbent aluminium phyllosilicate, in general, impure clay consisting mostly of
montmorillonite. There are different types of bentonites, and their names depend on the
dominant elements, such as potassium (K), sodium (Na), calcium (Ca), and aluminum (Al). As noted
in several places in the geologic literature, there are some nomenclatorial problems with the
classification of bentonite clays. Bentonite usually forms from weathering of volcanic ash, most
often in the presence of water. However, the term bentonite, as well as a similar clay called t
onstein, has been used for clay beds of uncertain origin. For industrial purposes, two main
classes of bentonite exist: sodium and calcium bentonite. In stratigraphy and tephrochronology,
completely devitrified (weathered volcanic glass) ash-fall beds are commonly referred to as K-bentonites when the dominant clay species is illite. Other common clay species, and sometimes
dominant, are montmorillonite and kaolinite. Kaolinite-dominated clays are commonly referred to as tonsteins and are typically associated with coal.
Bentonite has a big expansion after meets water, has a good colloidal nature,
can increase the viscosity of suspension in the drilling mud when used, can increase
the lubrication of drilling, cleaning the debris during drilling, as well as for the rig-freeing agent. So which is widely used in complex geological formation drilling.
To be suitable for lower solid mud, has clear action on stop falling anything from caving and stop
up leak, it has good close water base of interchangeability, thixotropy, lubrication, dilatancy,
suspension property and similar to white powder, it is also or be used for oil and gas well
drilling and civil-engineering include applied drilling fluid system, applied fluid solutions
for diaphragm walls and piles, lubrication fluids for micro tunneling or pipe jacking, drilling
fluids for water well, exploration and mining, fluids solution for shield tunneling.
