New Orientation of Refractory Castable in Aluminium Smelting Industry As the development of the Aluminium smelting industry, the refractory material for aluminum alloy smelting furnace and holding furnace has a tendency from high aluminium bricks with phosphate to low cement castable. We use dewetting agent to increase the space between the liquid aluminium and the insulating material to prevent the liquid aluminium from penetrating into the insulating material, meanwhile, the working life of the insulating material can be extended even under high temperature. Now, low cement castble has taken the place of the high aluminium bricks with phosphate because of the below: ·There are micro air holes in low cement castable which makes it difficult for liquid aluminium and aluminium alloy to sink into the refractory material, and the hole can block the oxide be deoxidated by Alu. ·The low cement castable has good abrasion performance.·The low cement castable use liquid aluminium as additive to make the wetting corner larger. Based on the above, the traditional material will be gradually replaced by the new.
