    Colloidal silica is the watery dispersoid of silicon dioxide. Its molecular formula can be written as mSiO2·nH2O. Its used widely in industrial productions, such as investment casting, vacuum-formed fibrous shapes, refractory material, inorganic coatings, stool and mold coatings, textile industry products, papermaking and film, hot-top insulating boards, catalyst binders and support, package frictionizing, the treatment of carbon products, and enhanced foam rubber. It has also been used as a water-purifying agent, a clarification agent, a polish, a reinforcing agent, a molecular sieve, and other products.
