Hydrophobic silica is produced by chemical reactions of hydrophilic fumed silica with reactive silane (e.g., silane or six methyl two silane). It is hydrophobic (hydrophobic) and can not be dispersed in water. In order to solve some special technical problems in industry, various types of hydrophobic silica have been developed.
