General Introduction
- Mica is a kind of rock-forming minerals. Its form is platelike or flaky.The colour is variable with the differences of chemical composition. Mainly Fe content increase will make the colour be darker.
- The characteristics of mica contains: insulation,high temperature resistant,lustrous appearance, stable physical and chemical property,good heat insulation, excellent elasticity and high toughness etc.
- Muscovite is used in industry mostly, the second is phlogopite.Mica is used widely in building materials industries, fire-fighting industries, fire extinguishing agent, electric welding rod, plastics, electric insulation, papermaking, asphalt paper,rubber,pearl pigment etc.

Applications:
- Mica powder can be used as prior filler in paint and coating.
- Mica powder can be applied in protecting layer of welding rods, conducting wires and electric cables.
- Mica powder is also the basic raw material for mica porcelain products.
- It can be used as suspended substance in fire-fighting dry powder.
- It can be taken as filler, shelter, lubricating substance, a drawing of patterns in plastics, rubber, asbestos products and sealing materials.
- It can also be used as filler in degreasing agent of cosmetics, in insulating materials of high-frequent electric waves and acid-durable products.
- It can be used as coating in models of forecasting metal, the brightening material in aluminum and paint in electroplating.
