It is mainly used in the production of magnesium salts, such as Magnesium Oxide, magnesium hydroxide, magnesium carbonate, cracker kindling agent. It is also used as an antifreeze material.

It can mix with magnesite (MgO) to produce magnesia cement. It can be produced into artificial marble, magnesite tile, floor, ceiling, decorative board, fire board, plastic stent, partition board, magnesite manhole cover, bathtub, door and window frame, movable house etc.
