    Product Description

     

    Expanded Clay (Clay Pellets) is made from 100% natural clay at average 1100-1200℃ in rotary kiln .The yielding gases expand the clay by thousands of small bubbles forming during heating producing a honeycomb structure. LECA has an approximately round or potato shape due to circular movement in the kiln, and is available in different sizes and densities.

    Expanded Clay (Clay Pellets) Use in Hydroponics and Horticulture

     

    Expanded Clay (Clay pellets) Substrate are various sized lightweight rocks that are produced to provide the optimum ratio of water retention and aeration (water to air ratio). They’re an effective growing media for vegetables, fruit and flowering plants such as strawberries, orchids and tomatoes. 

     

    Expanded Clay (Clay Pellets) has uses in agriculture and landscapes, it is used as a growing medium in hydroponics systems, and blended with other growing mediums such as soil and peat to improve drainage, retain water during periods of drought, insulate roots during frost and provide roots with increased oxygen levels promoting very vigorous growth. Expanded Clay can be mixed with heavy soil in order to reduce the weight of plants and landscapes soils.
