Inconel
718 has excellent corrosion resistance at high and low temperatures and good
resistance to stress-corrosion cracking and pitting corrosion. Alloy 718 has
good performance in hostile environments containing H2S, CO2, chlorides,
sulfides and free sulfur at selected temperatures. Alloy 718 is commonly used
for cryogenic storage tanks, downhole shafts and wellhead parts.
